Friendly Match versus Mississauga Chess Club
March 22, 2001

On Thursday March 22, the Mississauga Chess Club invited the Burlington Club to a friendly inter-club match of Active Chess (game in 30 minutes for each player). We managed to field a team of six - including two Burlington Members who regularly play at both clubs. Each player played two games against his opponent. The Mississauga Club has a wonderful venue - The Faculty Lounge at the Erindale Campus of the University of Toronto and they made us feel very welcome.

Here are the results of the match which was ultimately won by the Burlington Club! Congratulations to everyone and thanks for making the effort to come out for this special evening. Spring Schveningen Tournament
April 1998

The latest C.F.C. rated tournament began on Wednesday April 8th, 1998. A total of 16 members chose to duke it out in this second tournament of the club championship series. Tournament Director Trevor Varley lined up two sides of 8 players and set in motion a "Schveningen" style tournament. Time control is "Game in 2 hours" - each player has 2 hours on his/her clock.
